I would be interested. I have a new engine harness waiting to go in but I didn't want to cut it for my hei conversion. Would also be interested in a 4 wire plug and play ballast resistor bypass (73+)
Heater control valve connected now. Went for a 50 mile highway run. Temps stay cool from stationary up through sustained highway speeds. I think we're good to go now.
The Hayden 2747 clutch arrived and is installed. Temps stay on the second mark near the cool side of the gauge.
Fan spins a lot faster at idle and stops immediately when it's shut off.
I think the old clutch was just too loose to work well at idle anymore.
Thanks to all who responded.
They are, I will start with the $50 replacement unit I already purchased and see what happens. If I continue to have a problem, I will take Bobs advice and get the expensive quality unit made by Eaton.
Thanks all, will report back with updates after the weekend, I should have the remaining...
The rock auto replacement which was $50. I'm not opposed to spending the money on something better, it's just hard to tell what's actually better these days. What makes the $200 2806070 unit superior in your opinion?
Btw Tony's was apparently bought by vans auto, according to the Tony's website...
New thermostat and hoses.
Ordered new fan clutch and foam tape for the shroud. Also ordered rubber hood seals. Will finish getting it together and get some miles on it and see if the changes work out the idle temps.
Thanks all
Will check out the hood seal. I just got the car running in the last 24 hours, no throttle cable mounting solution yet so I don't know how it behaves while driving yet, but extended idling caused temps to creep up to upper range so I wanted to address that before getting it on the road
Thanks...
26in radiator, fresh recore.
Vehicle has AC, compressor not installed but condenser still in place
If I rev up the engine the fan spins faster and more air moves and temps drop so I believe pump is spinning in the correct direction.
I'm leaning towards bad fan clutch but wanted to confirm that...
Did a 440 swap on my 73 satellite.
Have factory big block k frame with proper spool mounts
78 motorhome 440
Factory 78 motorhome pump (bigger pump blades when compared to gates replacement so I left it)
7 blade fan on unknown clutch, might be factory motorhome unit.
Mopar factory shroud. Had to...
Title says it all,
A727 speedo gear housing and (blue?) 28 tooth gear. Preferably with retaining clip and bolt.
Please contact me with what you have, looking for quick ship.
Swapping my 318 for a 78 motorhome 440. Been doing some research and there seems to be LOTS of different options for brackets. My vehicle had a complete working factory AC setup, I would like to retain what I can. Can anyone point me to what I need to get the AC and other accessories mounted...
The video talks about how that standard connector isn't rated for the current it carries. I'm switching to an Anderson connector that can carry the current
Maybe I can just steal the plastic connector from the new unit and add new terminations to the existing wires/units.
I will have to figure out what type of connectors they used.
Thanks for this, I have decided to go this route. I will disassemble my new under dash and change over to the...
Whole harness is fine by me, my switches are fine, but the car was a former parts car, so I was left with the trashed components from the vehicle mine donated its parts to. RockAuto order arrives Friday so I will look at what comes and make the call.
Pictures show wires, thanks! Never imagined something like that would still be available from rock, figured I needed to find some reproduction company.
