Did some chopping and modifying to the underside of the 2020 challenger console for some test fitment on the new tunnel. I’m going to use some aluminum to fab up covers for the gaps in the front and back. Flex the the front flare of the console tighter to the tunnel and attach the carpet to the...
Got the TTI headers installed today. After swapping out the original starter for the mini, they bolted up fairly easy. The head gaskets stick out past the head and the block so I needed to bend the excess down slightly so the header flange would slip past it.
Waited for a warm day and blasted the shop with propane heaters to get it toasty warm so the car could get up to a nice temp to get some painting done.
Gave the trans a scrub and then two coats of Mopar Street Hemi Orange paint just to be different.
Rattle canned the engine bay and front...
Finished up welding in the trans tunnel covers, welding in a patch to fill in the front half moon clearance in the support arch, cutting out the shifter clearance in the arch and cover. Also cut out and fab’d in a pipe for e brake cable clearance in the SFC. And made some seat mount stiffening...
It’s nice to see other TR6060 configuration. Thanks for sharing. Did you go with the TTI exhaust system as well?
I work at a new build automotive tooling shop so I’ve got access to a machine shop.

Took advantage of the Holley black Friday sale and got myself an E body pistol grip shifter and shifter boot for the swap. My non console B body pistol grip was not going work with TR6060.
Can you specify which cross member you’re asking about?
I went with the QA1 coil over K frame. USCT Trans perimeter tunnel, subframe connectors and front & rear torque boxes.
Due to the TR6060 manual trans being used I went with USCT trans mounts as well.
With your drive train coming out...
Nice to see another Coronet getting a new lease on life with a Gen 3 swap. This site has a lot of great members with similar builds that you can reference from. I’m mid build at the moment. 69’ Coronet with 6.4 Hemi and TR6060 6 speed. Happy swapping and welcome to the site from Ontario Canada.
This will be my next fabrication project when I get back from deer hunting. It is interesting that USCT didn’t have the foresight to have this clearance already cut out.
Fab’d up the patch for the wiper motor bulge clearance. Patch for the clutch cable clearance. Also found the USCT TR6060 trans mounts sat too low at proper drive train angle with the QA1 coil over K frame. Fab’d up new tabs to lift the mounts up closer to the floor to make room for the exhaust...
Fab’d up some new trans tabs for mock up purposes. Tacked the mounts in place, pulled the engine and trans and went to town with the welder. Once again not the most visually appealing welds but they’re strong.
Welded the mounts right to the cross member which should help with rigidity after...
