good on you for stepping up as you see fit . I have gone the other way the last 3 years . Tbrake is nice but a little harder on car especially if you choose to leave higher , 35/4000+ . Make sure those spring perches are boxed . My Plymouth was not a huge amount faster basically whatever it...
thanks everyone . its been a great couple of days . Been lots of help and encouragement here .
Padam , racing a Plymouth means there is no parts ready available here . So I carry general tools . And a few parts , v/c gaskets , intake gaskets, plugs leads , belts , 2 spare axles , front w...
Hey all .
As some have followed along i have been doing some travelling and following our national series #nationaldragracingchampionship
After plenty of miles travelled i earned entry to the grand final as Eastern Conference Champion .
So it was off to Dragway @ the Bend in South Australia...
Well the dust has settled after a long race day .
Decided to double enter,2classes, for some extra runs/practice before next months grand final .
I normally run no box 10.00-12.99 but am also able to run box 8 50-10.99 .
Qualifying is off reaction times . Ended up #6 in no box and #2 in box ...
i know you do an ok wheely . But . Would that be a possible result of altering factory k frame ? I know you boxed and full welded plus use a engine pkate . But must be some body twist ?

Yes my block added around 90lbs . But then you can go onto wheels and tyres . My PBRs are about 34 lbs compared to Gyear radials @ 23lbs .Then there is 10"billet aluminium street rims verse 8" or light race rims . At least my 5 point bar was only a swap for rear seat weight .
Tex
Doug .
I hear you . I have run same shock setting for years . I do run radials so if track too far off i can turn . At least with pbr it will only turn a little before hooking not blow tyres off . I must say it is uncommon .
Tex
Doug ,
was good to go a few rounds . Q2 was a spin so yes why I changed tyres , Semi was a chirp of the tyre . Dont feel it was deeper than usual but ......
I'm not thinking track was stellar prep .
Tex
Well got back on track for first time since June .
Tine to get some practice leading up to October .
Ran at Sydney Dragway track champs round 5 .
Wanted to try a couple minor things on lights .
Started day on Goodyear 30x9 radials then went back to PBRs after turning 2nd qual .
First 3...
Bob ,
If using a msd box with carb should be no issue unless it needs a trigger per cylinder. i know you are using COP .
Might be worth asking msd or on their tech forum ?
as much as i know 24 or 48 etc is just finer control . I also know with LS there is 24 or 48 (?) and now you can get 1 box...
Ok .
Back to racing . Looks like i will get out again in about a months time . Will run a track championship rnd for practice , same price as a T&T and you will get 2 or 3 quals plus rounds plus often a better prep . I will use my GY radials for this and save the PBRs for national events This...
Dang I keep seeing that weight and shrug my shoulders . I cant see where I might lose 500 lbs without semi gutting the Satellite . Yes I can lose maybe 80-100 lbs on the bench seat , rear seat is out , little more with removing heater demister unit . World block isnt helping . Has 4 w disc...
I like the Milodon road race pan . On 2 different b bodies ,my 68 and friends 65 , both late K frames I had to trim on steering box mount slightly . Have had 2 small leaks occur on mine at weld points . I have had the pan for about 7 years
Tex
Malex ,
well thats a good problem to have sort of .
I have used a K&N 14"with filter top for years with little to no loss in power , have back to backed it on dyno to confirm . Just will not fit with the airplate , dominator , raised port heads . I had to cut down the carb neck on flat air...
thanks Doug for the info . Never seen that sort of $ here . Best I've done is $2000 for winning the track championship , that only pays $200 to win a round and its now its $240 to enter . For the national events its $350-700 sort of range depending on class.
Tex
well a good weekends racing even if not quite the finish wanted . Glad car ran ok . Do you tend to run specific series or more individual events ? I wish we could run as often as some of you , simply for seat time . Lucky to run once a month here so you can lose the feel for the tree ...
