I had that same kit in the late 80's and early 90's!

Except mine was the WM23/cassette version with the optional equalizer/booster.

I didn't have a mustache and I mounted a FM/Cassette convertor on the center console of my AM radio equipped Challenger, instead of an 8 track, but otherwise I pretty much concur with that as a teenager in the late 70s!

The fun "feature" of the 70 B body woodgrain rallye dash-

The radio bezel was super easy to remove and a generic rectangle shape.

I simply substituted a real wood panel, cut down from a period desk drawer partition (I knew immediately the first time I opened a desk that it would work) which had a very similar thickness, color and grain pattern, and cut the correct holes to mount my aftermarket cassette receiver.

As a bonus, I used plugs to connect the wires which made the unit removable- simply insert a couple fingers into the cassette well, lift slightly, and pull out.

Same here. Still have the car today with a Van Halen 1 in the 8 track player now. 1st is early 80's. 2nd and 3rd are what it looks like today a little more stock.

Same kit here only started with FM converter playing through AM radio in early 70s in my 65 Coronet 500. Upgraded to Pioneer Supertuner 8 track in my 68 RR 383 4 speed, Crane cam, headers, Torker intake, 850 Holley, Mallory ignition. Still have the radio, but not the car sorry to say.

Never liked 8 Tracks.
Once the Alpine cassette player came out I was hooked.

In 1977, I didn't have a mustache or air shocks, but I did have a stone stock GTX with a factory 8 track, and a box of Merle Haggard tapes. Past my teen years, but at 23 and single, I was paying through the nose for insurance. That changed when I married the girl in the picture. I still have her, 47 years later, as well as all my hair.

That looks like the same one I bought for my Challenger in 1979, except the cassette version. Pioneer unit I purchased at Pacific Stereo! Pacific Stereo was the cool place to go in the late 70s for all your stereo needs!

I wish I still had the car.

I do think I still have the EQ/booster.

Yep I got all that going on! I still look the same. First two pictures are present time and second two are from back in the day.

I put my magnet mount antenna right there.

Tested it in several places and that was the best.

I will take it! Dont like it here in the future.
Restoring my Roadrunner time machine.
