Seems like a funny number to show up on a cell phone! My wife has been getting this for a little while now and tonight i answered it. Speaking ( I think ) with a Mexican gentleman who claims my computer is sending messages or something to them, who ever them is, It was very difficult to understand anything he was saying as i told him it sounded like he was talking under water, lol, he assured me he wasn't speaking to me under water! Any way he was kind enough to explain after several attempts that if i would get on my computer he would show me exactly what to do to stop the problem i was causing him and "them".. After kind-ah gently telling him i don't let folks on my computer, or me going where he may try to get me to go i hung up. I did some checking, These nuts are over sea's somewhere and they get your number somehow, not found that part out yet but they tell you, or the lady of the house this can be getting us in deep crap and if we do what he says on our computers he can fix the problem "for us", While doing this they put some kind of a trogen worm or a big problem that affects our computers and then afterwards want to sell us the software to fix our problem we got fixing our first problem, There is other things there doing as well but wanted to share this with you in case any of the kids have a cell and computer to save some big problems in case it happens to one of you...

The guy i spoke with repairs and sells computer related things, he has helped me many times before and what happened to me tonight answering is not the only thing they try to do, i guess there's many scams being tried with this.. just thought you should know, just in case.. World gone mad nuts out there anymore! :fucyc:

Check your phone bill closely. Some of those phone scams can cost you mucho dinero if you answered.

It was a cell phone and she uses a prepaid card, didnt seem to do anything... Except annoy us lol.

I get those calls 000-000-0000 I never answered them...few years ago I called version to ask what the hell...they told me it was not possible to get a call from that #.....they said it wasn't on any of there call logs either...go figure...

I have got those as well...either they are survey takers, or people wanting to sell you something

I got a similar call a while back, its a scam. Guy said he was calling from "Technical Support" and my computer alerted to a problem and he could help fix it, but once I asked what company he was calling from and other questions, he finally hung up on me. Its all a scam. Phishing for people that are naive.

I used to get business related calls from Singapore and the numbers that showed up on the caller ID were crazy. Never saw the all zeros though. My calls were legit, so what I'm saying is these scam calls may very well be coming from overseas. I don't know how it all works but possibly the call gets redirected somehow and new numbers get reassigned. Good to know Ron and thanks for posting.

That is a well known scam where they get you to go to there web site where they can insert tracking and keygen software on your computer making it a virtual server for them to use as a spam point meaning if you had let them they would have install crap on your machine that would allowed them to use it to send out spam and other crap all the while whoever is getting it on the other end thinks it's coming form you.

Glad you hung up, check youtube there are several funny videos of people throwing this scam back in their faces and making them look as stupid as they sound.

I use Google voice, it's free and you can have a phone number issued to you to use for web transactions etc. you can also see who is calling, listen in while the call is in progress, record the call, and block the caller. I use it at home and for my cell.

For the hell of it Ron I would run a virus scan and a malware scan.

Got a call like that myself a while back Ron. Could barely understand what he was saying except he wanted to sell me "something for my computer" from Microsoft. He wanted me to turn it on and he would walk me thru the steps. I started to ask him who he was looking for, he didn't know. Also ask him what email he was trying to contact, he didn't know that either. Then I started to tell him don't ever call this f'ing number and go "F" himself. If I remember right the number that came up on our caller ID was from the food box of new York. Haven't heard from anybody else like that for awhile.

good idea, JB. I was just going to say the same thing.

thanks for the heads up, Ron.

ive seen that on the caller ID at work and I answered once, and the voice was all garbled and distant, so I hung up. only got it a couple more times and didnt even bother to say anything. just picked up the receiver real quick and set it back down.

Ya, I've gotten some of these before, they call every hour or so until you pick up and tell them to F**k off. All you have to say, is "Do you really think I'm gonna fall for this crap", most every time they have hung up and never called again. They count on a very elderly person, child, or somebody willing to listen to their crap answer, once you tell them that you will not be a potental victim than they will normally move on

Good to hear you didn't fall for it Ron. Scumbag's! I find simple enjoyment in messing with them. Last guy from Africa I messed with got a nice long story about losing my job because the Long Dong Hot Dog Factory burnt down and there was burnt weenie's all over the place. Another guy that got me on my work cell, actually believed I was in Africa on Safari, hunting the elusive Blue Balled Monkey with sling shot's.

The number that showed up on my wife's cell phone last night was 326-172-0000. A quick check didn't turn up an area code of 326.

Thanks for the heads up! I felt obligated to post because I received a similar call, too. The scammer used an 800 phone number which I'm sure people would see as a legit Tech Support toll free hotline. The scammer claimed their company detected a virus in my computer and that I should give him access to remove it and avoid damage. Lol! As much as he was trying to scare me, I knew it was a bluff. I hung up.

By the way, I Googled the phone number and callercenter.com/800-698-9034.html came up along with several complaints from others who have received calls, too. Wow! This scammer has been calling a lot of people already and he's still free?
