So I'be built a new small block for my 76 Coronet. This is a police car with a 100 amp alternator. That alternator had the two studs (output to bat, and a blue/white wire coming off the second stud) and a double brush connection (green and a brown). My new chrome brackets don't allow for the giant alternator so I used a stock correct alternator I had. Now I have no charging power. Any help or diagrams would be helpful. Not alot of people wanting to go from 100 to the 60 amp.

My meter tells me that the green goes to the outside pin of the regulator and brown to the inside pin of the regulator, I also have ohms between the brown at the alternator and at the ballast resistor. So what the hell does the blue/white do?

Hopefully somebody has the later books.

I would not hook to power or ground with the car Hot until it’s identified. Disconnect power and trace the wire to ground or into the bulkhead connector. It could also possibly be an idle step up trigger. Your later car had a bunch more emissions. Some cars took power off alternator for such accessories.

With the car on see if the extra alternator Post has voltage or that blue/white wire does.

I have not had a later car like yours and think my books only go to 74. But I will advise that my 68 Fury Pursuit has grounds all over the car/engine and trans. They were braided straps.
