I bought an 11" clutch flywheel for my '78 440 its got a 143 took ring gear. Question is, i think its wrong, ive got a cast crank, therefor its externally balanced!?!?!, the flywheel i got doesnt have a counter weight on it. Which apparently is required for cast crank blocks
Any help on where to locate a counter weight kit, and or instructions on placement. Theres no pre marked holes on the wheel for where it goes. Thanks y'all
I appriciate any help someone can supply

Also, i no brewers offers the counterweight for the McCloud flywheels, but not sure is they will work on others

Nope, the McLeod counterweights won't work. The Mcleod flywheels have a recess on the engine side with multiple holes for various counterweights to bolt to. Hence the suffix on their part numbers like 27C.

The best alternative is to have the flywheel drilled according to the Mopar Performance manual. It gives the proper placement, size and depth of the holes to be drilled to match it to your crank.

Thats what i figured. Thanks, and yea i called brewers and the basically told me the same thing. Just odd, the flywheel i got is for a cash crank but theres no huge balance weight on. Very odd
