So here's my mind boggler. I have an 8 3/4 out of a 73 Chrysler imperial car originally had 3" drums. Swapped backing plates to convert them over to 2.5" because they do not make 3" drums to my knowledge. Got everything set up backing plates new shoes drums went to install new drums and the bolt pattern is different than what is on the drums I did some research and apparently imperials were THE ONLY Chrysler car with the 5x5" bolt pattern every other Chrysler rwd car has the 5x4.5" so my question is does anyone know if they make 11 x 2.5" drums with a 5x5" bolt pattern?

swap axles for the smaller bolt pattern or have the drums redrilled in the larger pattern.any good machine shop can redrill the drums.(just recently did it for a trans am with a 9" ford rear)

Just get your axles re-drilled for the 4.5" bolt pattern. Any machine shop can do it quite cheaply, and it saves you the hassle of trying to find workable wheels for the 5" pattern. Otherwise you will need to also carry two spare tires.

As for your original question, I know that some early Ford trucks used the 5 X 5 X 2.5", but do yourself a favor and have the axles re-drilled.

Just decided to get a new housing and set of axles instead of getting those axles drilled out. Nice to have family with abundance of free mopar parts :headbang::icon_fU:
