SOLD 18 spline Aluminum 4 speed transmission $2500

Hi I don’t much about this trans , came from estate. Was told used for racing. And rare because its Aluminum was also told weren’t a lot made. Selling for friend Like to get $2500. Also have a cast 18 spline. Trans $1900. It’s from a 69 trans I took the side plate off looked good. If anyone knows about the aluminum transmission please email me. Like to know more.

Here's a good article on Mopar transmissions. The only aluminum transmissions I am aware of are the overdrive units from 75 up. To my knowledge they were 23 spline units, but I could be wrong.

It could be an old Direct Connection over the counter piece. I ran one for years in my Road Runner. Check to see if the case is sleeved on the cluster gear shaft. If so it's a DC case and probably has slick shift cut synchros in it.

I'm not doubting that, just something I don't know about. @Outlaw525 used one, he should know.

That aluminum case has the strengthening gussets unlike a standard OD. The Passon Performance 833 book describes transmissions/components in depth.

is there an groves in the input shafts of either trans ? it would be were it rides on the crank bushing area .

The aluminum 4 speed was available as a complete unit or you could buy just the case and tail from Direct Connection. The case is different from the OD cases because of the strengthening ribs
