1962 361

The 1968 2bbl 383 should have the 250 heads and not the 906. The 250 head comes with the port shape and valve sizes like the 516, but with an open combustion chamber like the 906.

I'm not in a position to argue the above (due to lack of empirical data) but I have never seen a 68 engine with these 250 heads. Always 906 68-70 whether 2 BBL or 4 BBL. However, I have seen a 66 or 67 383 with 1.6" EX valve 915's.

I have a 68 or 69 383 with 2 barrel intake manifold. And this one came with 906 heads. Maybe 1969 was the year they went to 906 heads on all their big blocks. If you buy this motor, check the head casting # on the intake runner. Will need to remove the valve covers to do this.

If I buy it, I will let you know.

There is an article in Jan '14 issue of PHR magazine that talks about a 361 engine build. It's an interesting read, the motor made 600+hp. Was stroked to 412ci.

62 361ci Engine

Found a 62 361 motor for sale, tell me about this motor please. Will it bolt up to a 727?
. In 1962 the 361,4 bbl, dual exhaust made 305 HP. It was very fast in the Dodge and Plymouth B bodies. My Grandpa had a engine like this in a 1959 Windsor and it was fast for the year!
