I found this truck (haven't bought it yet) and I'm gonna think out loud here for a minute. My plan would be to drop another hemi with auto, 4 link, universal ifs, 18's or 20's, metalic silver with a "rumble bee" type stripe on the *** end, vintage or classic hvac. Basically I have just over a year to get a truck and redo it cause my dad is moving away and taking his truck that I borrow when needed.

I don't know a thing about four links,no clue what universial ifs are. are you wanting to build a weekend toy? sounds more like you need a drivable truck, so I'd keep it simple.

I want to 86 the solid front end, do away with the leafs in the rear. I build it less than a year, so no worries there. I dont want a late model cause of California smog requirements, although my better half would like to have one.

I'd say go for it, sounds like a cool project. Just don't put a Ford front suspension and an LS motor in it!

You dont have to worry about that, Mopar all the way!!

I love it, sounds like a great project.... I always wanted to do/build a 60's - 70 or so Dude type truck, but in Resto-Mod style, modern hemi, six speed, slammed big tires, nice wheels, big brakes, handling suspension, with all the A-Typical creature comforts, of a modern truck etc... I love them body styles... I had a 66 W-200 Power Wagon, I did a bunch of mods/customizing to, when I was much younger, shortened & boxed the frame, put a shot bed on it & dana 60 front & rear w/4.88:1 gears, a 440ci 4 speed in it, Q78 Swamper's & a 6" lift, Silver Paint, than latter green & silver 2 tone, I still want to do the D-100 too, someday, I love trucks...

Brother is working on a Sweptline now. He is taking a '70 body and putting it on a '90 2wd chassis. got the cab done, still working on the box. Plans are to lower it yet.

This is the only pic I have. (the date on the pic is wrong)

A 4 link is a 4 individual 2 upper & 2 lower bars can be adjusted for ride or traction etc. & w/coil over shock usually, but can be used with housing floaters & leaf springs too, it's an extremely adjustable rear suspension, used in racing allot, usually along with a Panard or Track/Locator bar to center it &/or keep it from moving side to side & an ifs is Independent Front Suspension, instead of a solid or drop front axle... Struts would be a great easy mod too...

I've been (forgive the pun) "monkeying" with that idea for a few years and "gas monkey" pulls it off, although bastardized somethin' fierce. Since I'm doing a stroked 5.7(392) for my polara, the truck will get the stock hemi thats in it now, get another 545rfe trans, and I'm set. The "Dude" stripe is cool but I'm thinking more of the "super bee scat pak" style with a "rams head" instead of the bee. I found an ifs that will work on ebay for under a grand, 4link will be about 4-500, then I'll make my own track bar. I'll weld up my own tank (aluminum) so I can get an exact fit. I'll use an aftermarket hvac system to make it comfortable.

I spoke with the owner yesterday and he wouldn't budge on the price of 1500, then he calls me back 5 minutes later and says he'll take 900 for it. So, to play his game, I said that I have 600 and he said he would hold for me 'til I get the rest. Well, I'm just gonna wait awhile and see what happens, hopefully it isn't sold by the time I come to my sense's, lol!!

I gotta buy it first, then pics, lol!!

You have to keep us updated on this one. I love the 61-71 trucks. Ive missed 2 over in TN recently. Been trying to build a house and haven't been able to keep up with craigslist. Found both within a day of them selling. Hopefully when I find one the seller hasn't seen what the *** monkeys did and think there gold.

$900 for a California rust free truck, what you waiting for man? ha ha ha

Here in Minnesota those trucks are rusty beyond repair. What you have to find here is an old grain truck that hasn't seen winter and get the cab. That's what my brother started with.

My dad always says, "if ya wait long enough, you'll get what you want for the price you want to pay", and I'll be damned that has worked for him so I'm gonna try it. I dont mind paying his asking price, but I dont NEED the truck now, so I'll bide my time for now.

"how much will you take in hundred dollar bills?"

HaHaHa, that's funny!!!

Nothing wrong with the crown vic front suspension. They are good cheap way to improve handling. But that would be the ONLY non mopar part if I built it.

My neighbor has three of these trucks. a 70 and 2 65's. The 70 is his daily driver and the other two are his "toys"

Aha! So he's the guy hoarding all the truck, lol!!

Yea pretty much. At last count (when I was in his storage 2 years ago) he had 20 BB engine blocks two sets of heads for each block & more intake manifolds then I could count, and none of them are for sale. He does not believe in small block Mopar, although he wants to buy my 4 door Coronet.
