1962 Fury door panels

We are redoing the interior door panels on my Fury. The upholstery girl uses new plastic honeycomb style back board instead of the original cardboard. This product is twice as thick as the cardboard and I think it will cause interference between window crank installation. Any thoughts.

I think you may be correct. And even if you get the handle on will you be able to operate it? I had some custom door panels done on my 66 Coronet and they used a thin padding on the original board to get the factory pattern. Window crank went on fine but would rub a little when using. 62's have the different clip on style handle and I would be concerned with the same issues. Can she give you a small sample you could try and fit behind the crank to check? Hope it works out for you.

Thanks. Good idea to try a sample. I wondered about a thinner spacer to get the handle on but that makes the rubbing problem worse
