I thought I'd share these rare documents. Yes I'm selling the car. A gentleman from GA called me and told me this car was a special order auto floor shift based on the 5 on the fender tag and build sheet.

To begin with, that is not an O.E.M. shifter and the owner that previously posted it on Craigs list in Ohio 2 mo ago stated it had been changed from push button to floor including the dash bezel years ago.

You wouldn't happen to know how or if I can get a replacement fender tag for my car. It was gone when I bought the car. I do have the build sheet and the door jam tag.

Yes it came from Ohio. Is that a problem for you? Seems to be by the tone of your post. I bought it on a whim as I do sometimes.. I never saw it saying it was changed.

There is no evidence of it ever being changed. Not on the dash and push button would be a 2 code on the tag/build sheet in 1962 wouldn't it?

Really makes no difference where it camefrom, just stating what i was told.

Makes no difference where it came from,I was just stating what "I was told" when I first inquired about the car which was the first day it was listed as I also considered buying it and decided to pass.I would like to see what the shift mechanism looks like from underneath as you are dealing with two cables, one for park and the other for gear selection. Also I see no shift indicator, does it have one or do you just have to guess? As for the dash, four screws and the cluster is out, very easy to change the bezel.Like they say, when in doubt, ask !!

Also, there others in Ohio !

The IBM card from Chrysler historical would confirm all.Eitherway it could be made right

Regardless ,I think we can all agree it is a nice car and will be a wanted car in years to come.
