1963 max wedge coil

HEY, Does anybody know what factory assembly line ignition coil was used on the 63 max wedge cars, I've seen all different coils used. I know assembly line used auto lite cap and distributor #2098582, but I cant seem to find anything on coils. Any help?? Thanks.

Prestolite #2495531, or Essex #2444241 according to Jim Schild's Authenticity Guide. If i had to bet, i'd say the Essex is more likely on early cars.

Also note; there is NO coil on the Special Parts List...... I can only assume that means its the same coil as used in many, many other vehicles. Need a check of the '63 parts book.....

Thank you, With your response I was able to get this info.1688210 and 1688212, 1688212 coil was recalled due to failure and were superseded in June 63 to 2084847, 1960 - 1964
