My car has a three wire neutral safety switch. The wires have been cut.

One white, one brown (middle), one purple.

Can any one help as to where each wire goes to?

Thanks for any help.

You can trace them real easy. With the key on one should have 12 volts and one should go to the reverse lights. They go on the outer ends and the one in the middle goes to the starter relay. Find the 12 volt key on and touch it to one of the other wires as one of them should light the reverse lights and the one to the starter relay might backfeed and make it want to crank and then it might not but as long as you touch it to the wires with them unhooked and do it real fast you will be fine. When you find the 12 volt and the reverse lites you know they go to the outer terminals and the other is the middle terminal for the starting of the car in park and neutral. Thats as long as they wired it like stock. Ron

Hey Ron, thanks. As my wife always says, "you are the only one that understands what you are saying". Yes, she is usually correct. I should have said there are no wires leading to the switch. The wires were cut at the switch and removed.

Forgot to say this is a race car with 540 Indy motor, turbo action valve/shifter. Thanks
I just installed a turbo shifter with air and now it wont even start. I a not sure what I did since it had a switch somewhere before since it would only start in park now it wont not sure what I did. The package came with a switch but I didn't think of installing it since it has one somewhere. anyone know where I should look I am a bit confused on this. and why its not working

PS, Thanks for the help Ron! It is very much appreciated. New pigtail on the way and I'm now certain where to hook it up.

Cheers, Bill
