Gotta keep this up where I can find it.
Just try to sit down and watch Glen Beck, read the papers and watch the news about $5/gal gas and then tell your wife that you want to buy a $16K toy. Hard to do that. These are HARD and CRAZY times.
I got a call today from a dealer in Ohio who has been trying to sell a really nice red 63 max wedge plymouth for six months and he was just calling the people who nibbled at the ad to see if they're still interested. Yes, but not for $26K. That's not a bad price for that particular car, in better times it would be $35K. Not now though. The owner needs to keep it for 10 years until all this blows over and then try to sell it.
As bad as the old car market is, Florida real estate is even worse. My wife's mom has a condo in Bradenton that her family needs to sell to keep her in the rest home and my wife went on the internet last night and saw that prices are STILL dropping. The real estate agent down there said it will be a decade before home prices rebound.
The problem is, the old retired union guys in Toledo and Dearborn want to sell their homes and move to Florida but, guess what, the real estate market up there is as hot as a dead mule. Sooooo, no one is buying in Florida.
So the basic problem is that this car, and others, are fairly priced, it's just that everyone is afraid to write the check. Personally, I think maybe all this gloom will pass somewhat when Spring comes and the snow, ice and mud are gone. Then cars will start to move again. It'll sell.
Awesome.
Still for sale. Looking for a buyer in the upper $16K's.
Mother-in-law has been here with us for the month (insert your own joke here).
I took her home to Arkansas yesterday, now I'm in Green Bay in a 17 inch snow and ice storm. (I'm still in my flip-flops, though).
I'll be in Milwaukee this afternoon picking up another of those 102 cars and bringing it back home to Florida.
Haven't decided which one yet..... ;)
I'll be at Merchants Crossing Monday, Fosters Wednesday.

Hi Ken. Looks like you always pick the wrong times to go to Wisconsin.:cold::cold:
