1963 Sport Fury Max Wedge Convertible

Beautiful Mopar Muscle!

Looks like a great cruiser. Any idea what the asking price is?

Sorry as I dont know about it but it is a nice car. :hello2: Course I do kinda have a soft spot for 63 Sport Fury's. Ron

I owned it from 1978 to 2002. Discovered it was a real max wedge car in 09 and installed 413 engine out of 63 Imp. With correct intake and manifolds. Had a real max wedge with a clone engine and four speed. Let Bart Wells talk me out of it $$$$. He sold to Fred Ingelhart then it went to California and complete restoration. Its changed hands several times since then and been featured in several mags. I currently on clone to it but not a max wedge car and it has my old 383 fours speed that was in the max car from 78 to 99. Not afraid to drive this one!!

Hi Glenn - right off I was thinking this could be you seeing your location. I live in Colgate WI, we met years ago at a couple of meets when you still had the car. I still have my 63 convert and have made a push to do more on it this year. Darn 318 just keeps running great; but times a wasting and want to do a 318 build up. I just put in disk brake conversion and new 15 inch Coker wheels/radials. Car never saw radials before. Anyway interesting to read here what has become of your rare Fury! At a show last summer I ran into the guy who brought mine back from CA in 1989. He told me the story about the owner...hard to believe as he said, he bought it from an elderly lady in Pasadena CA no less! I started to think about the old Jan & Dean tune...go figure. Take care. Ron

the center hood bracing is cut out on all max wedge cars from the factory for air cleaner clearence[/QUOTE Mine was a early production car with the battery under the hood. The hood bracing was always a question to me too. I did not replace the hood and it looked original plus the air cleaners cleared it. I debated cutting the bracing even had template but decided to leave in tact. as apparently the new owners.

I have had 5 real max cars all had the bracing cut out. 2 where battery up front cars

All the real MaxWedge cars I have had ,Had the bracing cut out as Well .

Wow 5 max wedge cars, Makes and years? Gallen authenticated my car so it was real, one of four Sport Fury converts in his records. Maybe my hood was swaped with another white uncut hood before I bought it in 78.
