1964 Console plate 4-speed

I did just that. I had to trim a little too. I haven't completely decided whether to install my console or not.

Don't want to hi jack a thread but does anyone have the small piece of trim that is on top of the 64-65 console that starts at the back of the lid and wraps around to the back of the console. It's only about 2 1/2-3" long and shaped like a "j". Chrome shop lost mine.

I may have one I'll look tomorrow and let you know

I thought the 64 had the ribbed metal console top like this one - Not mine but that's the style I have. I'll go digging around for it to take an actual photo tomorrow- going to drag a 4=speed out to rebuild anyway

Correct. It's a fiberglass repop from ABC parts. I painted silver.

Gotcha- wasn't criticizing at all - I am new to earlier B-bodies so I was just verifying what I had been told. So the 64 has the cast in ribs and the 65 has the smooth? --

I did not take it that way at all. I was trying to clarify. The piece I am showing is intended for 1965 C body. It can and I did, modify it work on my 1964 B body console.

I'm going to answer my own post , AMS obsolete ( Georgia) is re making the center chrome strip for the 64',65' consoles if anyone needs one. Maybe other parts as well , not sure.

LINK??? Thier site is not the easiest to manage and see what they have unless you have a part #.

I never even looked at their site, just called because i was actually only hoping to find that console part as a used part until they told me that they just started to re make them. It may not even be on their site yet, first ones just came back from chrome last week.

the top console piece looks different it has 2 screws to hold it. where my 64 fury doesn't. the cigarette lighter is too cool.
the world has evolved.

Is just the top plate different than a 64,65 b body console?. Is that a cigar lighter or a interior light on the back facing the rear seat area?. Hard to tell from pics. Somebody needs that "L" emblem.
that is a cig. lighter
