that car has been kicked around for a few years i'll be shocked if it goes over 50k & still won't sell

Says it sold for $55k today. Anyone think that burnout looked troubling in the video? Maybe it was some kind of weird slow motion effect? If not, something didn't look right.

What's not to like!! Sounds like it's ready to rumble!! Thanks for sharing!

The car is one of only a hand full built, It has serious history and light weight everything. Brakes aren't a problem, the car is and always will be a track car. Being kicked around is an honor seeing how it's been around since 65 and has a life time of memory that come with it. It's worth 55 to me.

that was a cool ol' AFX AWB car

Thanks for all the imformation!! I think the cars great. Like Dick Landys, but they wanted something like 750 thousand for his. Not quite the same history, but you know what I mean. Again thanks for sharing!!

I don't know about you guys, but that intro was weak. It would not impress me if I was in the running to buy it.

big difference between the landy car & this car besides the history of the landy car it was also 1 of 11 or 12 depending on who you talk to factory / amblewagon built awb cars this car for sale is not

The car was a factory built drag car. Those that are left, a few, are not for sale. That makes 55 Thousand a fair price to me.

If I may politely ask. There were 11-12 Hardtop AWB cars (excluding the mule car shown above in the Chrysler lab) that were farmed out to Amblewagon in Troy, Michigan to be finished. Shortly after that, one (Sedan) was supposedly farmed as a special order to fill in for Bill Flynn "The Yankee peddler" With that being said, then which car is this one if it was indeed a factory car?
Was it a "Proxy" car that the factory built elsewhere or supplied parts and built plans to a local hot shot to build on his own?
I ask because only 11-12 Hardtop cars and one Sedan AWB cars were officially built via Chrysler's orders. Don't mean at all to be cynical.

A lot of the A990 cars got converted by the racers after the 11/12 factory cars were built. Chrysler put out a document - I think it was a TSB - that gave the instructions on how to do it. It was several pages long. I printed a copy off the internet years ago, but I can't seem to find it online right now. Perhaps this car is one of the A990 conversions?

I kinda assumed that it wasn't an authentic "one of whatever" simply because it was so cheap. Nowadays, a nice 69 383 charger is fifty grand. This is an altered wheelbase, lightweight injected hemi car! For only 55 grand? I know which I would rather have!!!

Not something I would go for. But it looks really cool.

This 1965 Dodge Coronet A990 Super Stock is a factory lightweight drag car powered by a 426ci Hemi V8 paired with a 727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission. The two-door sedan was scheduled to be built on January 13, 1965 and was delivered to Western Dodge Sales and Service of Owensboro, Kentucky with fiberglass fenders and doors, a fiberglass deck lid and hood, fiberglass bumpers, and an altered wheelbase......... Now, I know how many were made and I can only go by what I read. Sure it's cheap and I would think it was not authentic, but it said that it came with Chrysler historical documentation. Unless I'm reading it wrong, it was suggested that it was real. I like the car, either way, you couldn't build a clone for 55. This is all RC's fault........LOL

I agree!! If I can't drive it on the street every day, I don't need a race car only. I do really like it!!
