Hey guys,

The original seatbelts came with my car (1965 Dodge Coronet 2dr sedan) but wheren't installed. As I feel safer in the car with seatbelts, I want to install them. I know that there's supposed to be a hole in the threshold (is this the correct word? sorry 'bout my English). But, is this hole always there? I don't want to screw up a perfectly installed carpet.

Thanks for the response!

Holes should be on either side of the trans tunnel just past the seat mounting brackets.

My 65 came with seat belts I'll get some pics for you .

seat belt holes

Heres the pics The top one is upside down it's of the pass side , and the one of the driver side shows the bolt hole on the side of the floor pan where it turns upon both sides they are threaded . But the ones in the rear are not threaded..

65nutcase can you take another pic of the full back seat. I didn't think they had holes for rear seat belt bolts. If I am wrong is all that is needed is to thread the holes that are there?

No you need the seat belt mounts I'll get some pics if I can find mine .

Basoline,

I have a set of new seat belt retainer brackets for your '65. These 4 brackets will take care of driver and passenger front. Please contact me PM if you're interested...Nick

Thanks, Furyus63, but the fact that the original seatbelts came with the car means there should be (threaded) holes. Maybe I should've rephrased the question: where are the holes for the seatbelts located. The brackets look good by the way!

Well, I'll use the pictures 65nutcase posted to try and find the holes...I'll let you guys know!

Hey : I've cut up a 4-door @ my convertible , the only holes were in the Inside wheel Tubs , and removed the bolt that screwed into a solid eye guizmo with a female threaded end for the bolt 1/2 " dia ? There were no holes in the center transition pan ! so I don't know if they used the outer eyes for the inside belts or how they did that ? ? ? my rear inside belts were gone for both of em ? ? ?

65nutcase, thanks for the pics. Is the metal in the rear thick enough to thread or do you need to put a plate and nut behind for more strength? Or is that method not strong enough for safely holding someone in during a crash?

That plate is about 2"round and the hole in the floor is about 3/4 so you have a good amount of floor pan to hold the plate !
