I'm looking to put a 65 b body 8 3/4 rear end into my 62 440. I have a 77 7 1/4 in it now and the tires and rims rub on the inter fender. The rims are American racing TT "D" with 275 60 R15 tires. I'm hoping this will solve my problem. I'm not sure what size the rear drums are on the 65. I also want to make it a poise.
with 323 or 355. Any help will be great.

Thanks

The rear drums should be 10.5"! What back space do the wheels have? If they are apx. 4.5" you shouldn't have any problems! BTW what is the width of the wheel?

when I lay the tire down and put a level across it's 11 in wide.

The wheels are 8in

You should be okay! As long as the back space isn't less than 4"

well I got it and guess what? yep does not fit, to wide, so now I have an 8 3/4 b body rear end with a 323 sure grip for sale.
