1965 transmission in 64 car

The valve body dictates the shift pattern. The buttons can not be switched. They are all different shapes. You have to remove the metal sleeves, cut them apart, and reglue back together. Then you can reinstall the sleeves and stake them.

I was aware of the various configurations with the buttons but not with man valve body. Thanks for the knowledge. I'm looking at some ways to step up my trans.post motor build up the old 727 shift pattern doesn't cut it..
