1966 Dodge Coronet 4 door.
I can not afford to keep this car any longer. I am located in California and the car is located in storage in Maryland. I moved last year and I was hoping the car could follow me later but I do not have a place to work on it out here and I do not know when I will. As such I must give it up.
Some history on the vehicle.
I am the third owner. The car came out of southern Virginia and had very little rust. Odometer read 60,000+ miles. Judging from the wear and tear I would say that was fairly accurate. The owner before me, an old Mopar guy, swapped out the original 318 and put in a 273 commando motor from a barracuda S that he got from a guy who wanted to swap in a big block to his car. An interesting swap, the motor never seemed too happy being coupled to a slushy 904 in a heavy B body, but I digress.
Anyway, everything is there, the 273 got some water in it, so it would need to be rebuilt (rust in cyls 5 and 7), but it does have all the magic commando parts (carburetor, high comp Pistons, air cleaner and valve covers (though they are weathered). My plan was to put a 360 in it, something a little torquey-er than the 273 you know, but nothing too crazy.
The car itself is in partial paint, and all the parts are there, I have some extra grill parts, tail lights, doors etc. doors have all glass and panels, glass in spare doors is factory tint which I was going to swap in. Drivetrain is out of the car.
Things it needs or will need are a windshield, soft rubber parts (glass and door seals) interior carpet, headliner, bumper and trim parts re-chromed to make them pretty again etc.
I'm asking $500.00 just to throw a price there. Storing it costs money so I am seeing expenses reduced by having it gone.
I have until the weekend of March 18th to figure this out, that's when my wife I fly back east and load the last of my stuff that my mother was kind enough to allow me to keep in her basement and take it west with me. At that point the car and parts get donated to either a charity or a junkyard, which would make me sad.
I may be able to deliver on my trip back west, which will most likely be by the southern I-40 route.
Picture is the car prior to me taking it all apart for paint and preservation.
Feel free to PM me with questions.
