I couldnt wait to get going on my new project. Took apart the complete front end and powder coated the suspension and replaced all the parts with tech help from fellow members.Sanded and smoothed the engine bay and put on some new paint. Sent out all the fenders doors hood and other body parts to be blasted so I could have a good base to work with. Fixed a couple of pin holes in the floor . I even installed a 360 magnum with AOD Trans.Spent hundreds no thousand in parts and chrome parts. You name it I probably bought it. I knew the car was hit in the front left corner but it was an easy fix replacing a partial core support and straighten the inner fender apron. I also knew that some small rust holes were in the rear quarters but nothing I couldnt fix. This was going to be my driver but never the less I wanted it as solid as I could make it. So now the other shoe drops. After stripping paint on the corner I dug into a 1/4 inch of bondo where the C pillars joins the body . There were some real waves under all that filler. The quarter panel ended up rusted inside and out along the whole bottom . But what tipped it for me was that I noticed a bump in the floor I didnt see at first above the brace that comes from the front left frame rail that meets up with the cross brace that the torsion bars attach to. Took measurements and the car is out of square by better than 3/4 of an inch. I am now stripping it down of all parts and sending the body to the crusher. This is whole and completely my screw up for not doing things in a proper sequence. Lesson learned. I will be looking for another body that I can start with and you can be sure I will do first things first. By the way I am going to get this build done, I like the look of the Satellite to much to give up. Sorry for being long winded PJ

I have a real decent body that needs 1/4's...floors decent, trunk floor looks good. Never been hit...We're not that far away and the price is right!

just a thought but have you considered taking the body to a body shop with a frame puller, it may be cheaper or at least esier to come by.

as for 66 b bodys offer if it works for you go for it.

and my third suggestion would be if you do decide to crush your body first cut off the panels with the (hidden) S.O. number on them and keep your title and vin as well just in case the new body you find dont come with a title and you cant get one

I am holding off the demise of the Satellite until I see what offerings are out there. I may not find a complete rust free body however I am going to see what comes up in the next few months. Here in Washington State it is real tough to get rid of a hulk without title even if it is all cut up.AS offerings for patch panels or quarters there is one company that offers them but they fit as good as socks on a rooster. AMD claims within the next year or so to have patches available but isnt quite sure. Anyone who has the individualism to own a 66,67 B body knows this is part and parcel of the experience. I had a 69 Mach I before this and have done many mid 60's offered by Ford and GM where there is a luxury of ordering just about anything you need. However none of those have the distinct style or dimension that the 66 and 67 Plymouth B body offers.
We march on. PJ
