I have a 1967 Charger and
I am looking for the "yellow" paint original to the 1967 model year. I have noticed others have beautiful paint on their rides and am trying to find a supplier to match the color original to the car. All info would be greatly appreciated!
Hi...my 67 manual shows S code paint to be "yellow" for B-body cars. The Ditzler code is 81539 and the Chrysler code to be CAY1Y1.
For 66 the paint is referred to as "cream". The Ditzler code is 81501 and Chrysler code BAY1Y1.
Not sure what the difference between and 66 and 67 is, but an older established automotive paint supplier may be able to mix based on original Ditzler or Chrysler codes.
Most newer paint suppliers can determine the color and mix using information from portable device that when set over a paint sample will give the color and mixing formula. Find a covered area that has protected the original body paint color and use it. Under the sill moldings, inside the trunk lid, etc.
Hope this helps.
