well after two long months of paying off this monster im almost finally able to pick her up, my 1967 dodge charger w/ 440, 727 automatic and 8 3/4 rear end. she definitely needs some love and isnt originally a 440 car but its my first project car and also my favorite car being a charger. my uncle found the car for me locally and offered to help me build it and teach me about cars where my father wasnt able to so she will have some strong sentimental value to me. about me: im a 25 year old vet of the us army, never had much experience with cars outside of driving them and them breaking down on me lol. Congratulations on the Charger! Needs work, but that is a worthy project. I favor the 67 Charger and am looking to find one for myself. I'll score one eventually, but for now I'm happy with my Plymouths and Dart. BEWARE of the MOPAR sickness! Once contracted, it has the ability to keep you infected for life. Build it how you want to, and drive the hell out of it!
Thanks for your service. A military man deserves the thanks of all the citizens that enjoy the freedom to do whatever they wish. Freedom is not free, and it's you younger guys that end up paying the price. Thanks again for your service to this great country of ours!

Welcome to the site ,thank you for your service in the military. And nice car I'm a huge charger fan I've always wanted a 66-67 car but never seem find any when I go car shopping . There very cool cars (not easy to build) beings there's not much repop stuff for them , anyway s good luck with it and start a build thread I'd love to see this one built.

looks like PO swapped out the Charger dash for one from a Coronet. good luck with that.

Congratulations, welcome to the site and thank you for your military service, it is appreciated. You have a lot of work cut out for you there but these can be some fine cars when finished.

Hey "neighbor".

I know all about sentimental attachment to cars.
They have history to us.
People who aren't "car people" don't get it.

These are one of the hardest to do.
They didn't make that many of them.
But well worth it. It's a first gen Charger.
You will have something special to show for your trouble.

I just sent you a link for parts.
Hope it helps.
Check your PMs.

I like that 440 lurking under the hood, all the kick-down stuff looks to be there, nice score! And the body looks really solid too. If you need a rear bumper and brackets then I have one, it's yours for the price of driving to GA. PM me if interested.

thanks again for the bumper as well as the other parts you gave me the other day. it was very much appreciated! i look forward to keeping you up to date on my progress on the car!!!

Go back and see if that charger in the background still has the dash cluster in it and score it, the wiring harness and every nut and bolt you can get. You will need it as someone hacked your dash up pretty good.

Id get the car on the road and roadworthy prior to worrying about putting a turbo on her my man. They are money pits ask my how I know.....see my avatar.

haha yeaaaah unfortunately that charger in the background is damn near useless for parts all its got on it that i actually want is the rear deck lid just for spare parts in case someone decides they wanna rear end me and cave mine in or something. im definitely going to need a new wiring kit and im thinking im gunna just get one of the led repop dash cluster because your absolutely right someone hacked it badddd its actually worse in person lol that was the biggest downfall to buyin her but hey that makes it part of the fun right? as far as the turbo goes its more of a long term thing like yr or two down the road but im just trying to do research on it as far as what works best what brands to go with the design of the system and yadda yadda yadda lol i wont be ready for it financially for a bit because your exactly right road ready is my first priority my goal is to be able to take her for a spin to work by the end of the summer which could very well be a realistic goal if things keep falling into place for me as they have been. ive met some great people on here and facebook that have hooked me up huge on parts that are either damn near impossible to find or an arm and a leg to buy so ive been rather fortunate so far!

just wanted to check in with everyone whos been trying to follow my progress but hasnt been able to, i have located a multitude of parts, only things im missing now interior and exterior wise is front bumper and brackets, upper and lower grille bars, vaccuum pumps for the headlights, steering column w/ floor shift and power steering, steering wheel, front center console, shifter, and dash instrument cluster. thank you to you all that have lent me a helping hand, gave me a deal or were patient with me while i worked through life and tried making this possible so far. your the true mvps lol

Thanks for the service to our country! That will be a true cool car i bow down too those old mopars Love them all

thanks man honestly any charger from the 60's-70's is essentially my dream car lol
