I have a 67 coronet 500 and a previous owner bent in the fender lips (Rear) to fit larger tires in the past. Currently running P215/75R-14.
I was hoping to get rims that are 15x8x4.5 BS and place a P275/50-15 tire. Does anyone know if this combo will work?

I have 255/60X15s with 8" wide wheels with standard back spacing drag radials on my 66 Coronet with no wheel well mods. The 50 series is a little shorter. I don't think I could go any larger with the 60 series and have anyone sit in the back seat without them rubbing. Hope that helps you???

The 15x8 with a 4.5" backspace should take a 275-60-15 tire. The 275-50-15 has to wide of a section width and will rub for sure. I have a 15x10 with a 4.5 backspace with ET street 11.50x15 and I have to be careful turning corners because they will rub. I see several guys with the first combo with no problems.

i didnt think there was any way a 275 60 would fit between my springs and fender lips, guess I will have to look closer.

What back spacing should i use up front with a P225-60-15?

I don't think they will fit period. They will certainly rub when turning. I have
2-15-70 or 78s on mine.

here is a pictures of it.
