Correction: differential compatibility
You can freely swap the sure-lock / carrier from one to the next with the only exception of a '63 or earlier open center section.
I can do the following:
Wagon - Use the 67 housing with the 64 Sure-Grip 2:76.
2 door - Put the 64 housing under the 2 door with the Sure-Grip 4:10 (although I don't want a Sure-Grip in this car).
What I cannot do, which I read in the link above but not familiar with:
I have a spare 62 open center that I wanted to put in the 2 door, as it's a slant 6, but apparently 63 and earlier open centers do not fit 64 and newer housings, and you can't modify to fit.
