Hello All! I am restoring a 1967 GTX 4spd and need to take off the driver door to send to paint shop for a repaint. I see that there are 5 bolts between 2 hinges. is that all I need to do, other than mark around the hinge so I know where to place when reinstalling.

Yep just mark for realignment and have help ready to it doesn’t drop. Also might want remove door glass, door panels and and vent window, mirror too. Mark regulator bolts and such for realignment also

so the regulator bolts are the 5 bolts that hold the door to the hinges? The car just got painted and I don't want to use a marker that won't come off. what would you recommend using to mark everything with?

No, window glass. Might be easier just to remove door and let shop do the removal of all associated things once there. I like grease pencil or a soap pen similar what welders scribe with

taking off the door with the hinges is a pain, why don't you leave the hinges on the A pillar and just take off the 4 bolts that hold hinges to door. Unless I'm having a senior moment there are 6 bolts to A pillar not 5

I looked quick. You could be right. Good to hear from someone from the area. And that is what I planned on doing after looking at it.

If you don't mind the holes, drill one 1/8" hole through the hinge and body. Replace in the exact position with 1/8" welding rod for guides.
Mike

There are FIVE bolts, two in the top, three in the bottom. Note the grease pencil..
