My old one turned into a single speed. Looking into the classic auto industries repro. They market this as a 1968-1969 part, but don’t seem to have a 1970 one.

This should be the same, correct?

I believe they are the same. I bought mine for my 70 thru Mega Parts, listed as 68, 69 and 70.

I believe the switch itself is the same but the finish is different. 68-69 were chrome finish and 70 was a satin finish.

They are easy to take apart, clean and reassemble. Usually they're just clogged up with 50+ years of hardened grease and copper dust.

Make sure the switch case has a good ground first.
I'm almost sure that is the problem.

I do a lot of 3sp switches for customers, and my ePay account.
I even have 2 of the Cheena repros that customers donated to me for parts.

I can walk you through the tests, if you;d like.
