I noticed that your valve covers are painted. My dad had told me that 68 GTXs came with chrome ones. Do you know if that's right ?

Nope. Painted.

I don't know about the 426 Hemi. But my 440 had painted covers, black ripple air cleaner and black breather. Also the brake master cylinder the lines should come out towards the engine on the 440 and reverse for the Hemi.
