On a separate note, what is this panel called and can you get a repop or does it have to be pulled from a donor? Mine sat with a vinyl top, so it’s crusty on the lower panel where the sun visors and mirror mount. I have one I pulled off a cheap RR parts shell, but it’s a bit crusty too. If I can’t get one aftermarket I might have to try to fix this.

Finally getting around to making progress. My car needs enough metal work to where I felt it needed a frame jig. I’d hate to put in the effort and have it not turn out right. Here’s the beginnings of the jig. This is the bottom frame, based off the 512 restorations jig. I used 3/16 rather than 1/8 and will probably reinforce it a bit with 1” tubing as they did. All the supports and frame mounts still need to be made, but this is the bulk of it.

It still needs some 1” bracing. I ordered the 1” bolts for the frame supports. But at least the rust is off. Getting the car mounted will be a chore...especially without a lift.

Progress is slow with the work schedule and the usual home life. But here is where it’s at. Almost there. Need to get the corner braces in, and then I need to cut the 1” holes and weld the 1” grade 8 nuts to the plates the frame sits on. I also need to go over the height of the frame mounts...I’m trying to get these accurate down to a 1/16” if possible.

Im building directly off the measurements provided by 512 restorations in their B body jig. They have a page on their site about it, you can also just pull it up with google. The drawings and reference photos are good.

Working out of my garage with no lift, getting this mounted will be a joy. I’m probably going to tack the frame mount pads on and use a couple engine hoists to lift the shell and slide the jig under from the side. I’m guessing I’ll probably lift from the k member in the front and some 1” bracing I have in back triangulating the frame rails and spring supports with the trunk supports and wheelhouses.

It’s not all tacked in yet. But it’s on the jig. Some fine adjustments are still needed, but could have been far worse. Overkill compared to 5150 mopars jigs, but its solid.

Finally have the space to tear into this one again. I removed the driver side inner and outer hinge panels. There was rot at the top and bottom. I also cut out and patched in part of the driver a pillar. Looks like there is lower cow rot around the Edges of the panel and the cold air vents.

Yes, just starting to do more work on it. I was looking to sell so I could just focus on my 70.
