1968 Chrysler 383 Head Gasket Question

I am getting some 346 heads done for my 383 as one of the 906 ones got a crack in it from overheating, didn't advance the timing after installing the cam.

Here are the recent specs:

Engine: 383
Cam: Comp Cams 268H XE (Intake .477 Exhaust .480)
Carburetor: Edelbrock 1809 650 cfm 4 Barrel
Intake: Edelbrock 7186 RPM
Timing Chain: Double Roller Comp Cams
Pistons: Flat Top .30 Sealed Power

My question is what Head Gasket should I use, I have been looking at the PT1 Permatorque from Fel-Pro, I still have to check the clearance of the pistons with the deck.
 
I would just use the oem felpro ones, unless you have a setup with really high cylinder pressure they work great. The important thing is pay attention to the head bolt torque specs and sequence. Aluminum heads are a different story, ask IQ52 on all things head...he is the head guru
 
I like the Fel-Pro High Performance 1009 Head Gasket with the pre-flattened stainless steel ring.

I agree about these gaskets. I used OE felpro gaskets in my last 383 and I had one head gasket fail.
Replaced them with the 1009 and had no more issues. I like them better myself and the price difference is low.

While your at it, you might want to check how far down in the hole your pistons are if your block wasn't decked. I'd check that first to determine what compression ratio will be. I will have to run steel shim head gaskets just to get 9.1:1
