Hi all,
It has been awhile since I've posted and I'm thinking about getting back into the MOPAR world. I sold my 70 Coronet R/T project and I miss it, even being in the garage as a project car that I know I would never get it done, I still miss it.
I hate to say it but I bought a 1996 LT-4 Corvette that is really a nice car and a fun car but its not a MOPAR. I'm looking at selling it and funding a new project/mission and it's called "Bring A MOPAR Home" and that is what I'm going to do, bring one home.
So the guy who bought my 1970 Coronet R/T has a 1968 Coronet R/T that needs a little work. He is going to send me pictures this coming week if I don't get them this weekend. He just redid all the interior with everything brand new. That is the good, the bad is it needs some body work.
The price of the car and if I get what I want out of my Vette, I will be able to sell it and have the new panels put in (Trunk patch panel, not full panel) and have the 1968 Coronet 500 passenger door fixed. The door had a molding down the side of it and it needs to be welded from the holes. I will then have the guy paint it while he has it. The guy owns a body shop and then also owns a restoration shop. He has been in many Mopar and muscle car magazines, he has some of the rarest of rare cars I have seen. He is a true Mopar guy.
So my question or questions are, what do I need to know about the 1968 R/T?
What knowen problem areas?
What parts will interchange from the model line up and what wont?
I remember that the 1970 Coronet 500 had the parts that would interchange with my R/T so I'm just looking to see what I need to know about the 1968s.
So tell me everything and anything I need to know about the 1968 model year and the R/Ts, just anything about the 1968 Coronet models.
Thanks everyone.
