HI, this is my first post to this forum. I found a 1968 Hemi GTX. Auto Trans, 1 owner, 31,000 original miles. The car looks to be in good condition. My question is what do you guys think its worth. Its going to be sold at an estate auction here in Arizona. I decoded the fender tag and its the real deal. I don't know how to upload pictures but here is a link to some pics. Its under the auction for December 19th. http://602blue.com/upcoming-estate-sales/

Thx

Check out Price guides
I can tell you this: I'd pay $70K just as it sits

They made 410 (shipped)
11 to Canada
217 were 4-speed
193 Torque flight

There is one currently on Cars On Line right now:
68 GTX 4-speed Massachusetts

We have original Broadcast Sheet which matches the Fender Tag and support numbers . The Car is spectacular underneath , even has resonators , Poverty Caps and 15" Goodyear Redlines .
Price - $ 82,000

Thx for the responses. I was thinking somewhere between 50k and 75K. It is selling at no reserve so maybe I will get lucky.

ill give ya a shiny new quarter for it :icon_mrgreen:

This one (Roadrunner) was listed for 79K OBO and sold.

Car in estate sale may or may not be in condition to hear run at time of sale.

This one mentioned above is 82K but an older restoration.

It is true that they are only original once, but whoever buys this car will most likely spend a lot of time and money restoring it to the condition of one of the cars shown above.

I am thinking 50K tops and another 50K into it to nut and bolt rotisserie it to have it comparable to one of the cars above. Then you will have an 80K car.

Just the way car restoration works.

No way IF that GTX is mostly original which FROM WHAT I CAN TELL IN THE PICS it looks to be then... they are only that way once.

There is more money to be made if you are into profit, on non restored survivor type cars than fully restored cars period.

My buddies survivor green 70 318 charger garners more interest from folks then his restored hemi car

It would be a crime to restore that car. I'd leave it exactly as is, maybe clean it a little. Even then, I would be very careful about the cleaning and polishing.

That's exactly the kind of car I'd be looking for if I ever won the lottery. Original except for a few minor two day mods - exactly how I like 'em.

Yeah,
As dieseldazzle and 67Satty stated:
A "Ture Barn Find" and original condition!

That'd be a nice car to own.
Now every millionaire car buff in a 250 mile radius will have a represenetive there and bid on it.

Gasser up and drive to the car wash! What a cool car to find these days. Wish i could afford to stand inline for that one!

could use a bit of cash to get it on the road......:edgy:

50K....Sonny submits ......but if someone in the room wants it bad....well.
:edgy:

Satty thinks the evidence points to it running recently. It looks to have a newer Optima battery, but not too new (it's dusty) like they just put a brand new battery in it to make things turn on for pictures.

I guess when you try to find another one that is basically a barn find low production hemi car that looks to be very very original of course people are going to under value it. Until it's theirs.

Barn find, recreation, clone, day-2, etc............ways to make stuff seem more valuable. It probably needs a couple grand to make it run/drive...if it does/will.
