Due to my health reasons and the real possiblilty of early retirement I am putting my rare Monaco 500 up for sale. The car is beautiful and a solid California car with no putty or crash damage. There were 3400 built in 68 and being that the car is 45 years old there is a very good chance that there are less that 200 left. The car just completed a trip to Carlisle and logged over 1150 miles with no problems, some of you saw it in the stock 65/68 C-body section where it placed second in its first showing, it was the only stock 68 Monaco on the show field. I would have placed the car in the survivor tent but I needed it to get back and forth to my motel. There is a full description in my photo album which give all of the information on the car, it is licenced and insured in NY state, fly in and drive it home! $14,250 FIRM
"The Dodge Monaco 500 was a "sister" car to the Chrysler 300 but many fewer of them made with the count being right around 3400 for all Monaco 500's that year. Odometer reads 61,***. This car was originally from California and was purchased and shipped to NY in 2004. The car has just about every option that was in the book and has no rot anywhere. The stainless steel trim and Interior are original and in very good to excellent condition including the carpeting and headliner. The car has the original 383 cubic inch HP Mopar V8 with the C-body HP manifolds and is topped by the original coded 4 bbl Carter AVS carburetor. The cylinder heads were machined with new valves, guides and hardened valve seats (to accommodate unleaded gas) by Drakes Engine Shop in Rochester, NY. The car runs great and goes like a bat out of hell but yet its very comfortable. Factory 15" wheels with original factory "Disk Brake" wheel covers, 4 piston factory front disc brakes and newer 235/75R15 tires. The car has factory AC but not currently working due to not being charged. Exhaust is run through a dual (3" to the mufflers and 2.5" from the muflers back) TTI exhaust system which has turn downs at the rear bumper.
This is the first C-body I have ever driven that will chirp second gear!
