Hello everyone,

My name is Alan...recently my dad passed away and left me his 1968 Sport Satellite. It was his baby and is in very good condition....don't have the exact miles... I live in San Diego and my mom lives in Santa Barbara with the car...she still drives it from time to time,....and whenever she does she gets an offer to buy it. I really want to hold onto the car, as it is badass and my father would want me to...when ever I visit I drive it around and it is like a dream...smooth and powerful.
I attached a pic...sorry I don't have a better one

a few questions if you could help me

1) It is starting to get body rot in a few places :( ...is there any way to stop this before it gets worse, or at least slow it down...we keep the car covered now

2) My dad always said this car was very rare...but he also exaggerated about everything! How rare is the car? I know it is a 383 (as it says so on the hood) but beyond that I am clueless! And looking at similar Plymouths, there seems to be a wide range of pricing...what is a medium price for it?

Any other advice/info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to the site! Sorry to hear about your Dad.
That car is a keeper in my book, big block 383 convert, keeper for sure!

Sorry about your Dad, Keep the car if you are able to maintain it and your Memories. You are on the on the right track to keep the rust from getting worst and out of control. There are products on the market that will control the rust until it gets properly repaired. POR-15, Rust Bullet, OSPHO, and Eastwood products can all be used depending on the location of the rust and how dirty you want to get to prepare. Some products need to be top-coated for UV. Research a little on the web, read the forums and then make your decision.

The car is low production as your father stated. Some research will reveal the numbers. good luck and welcome, you will find that the Mopar community is very friendly and helpful.

You can find friends and support at several of the terrific Mopar clubs in SOCAL.
www.SouthBayMopars.net centers around Torrance, WWW.CPWclub.com centers around Van Nuys and I am sure OC and San Diego have representation too. We just had a super show and swap at Spring Fling in Van Nuys just yesterday. CPW (my club) will also sponsor a Fall Fling in October. Thousands of owners, friends of Ma Mopar and vendors attend. These events are fantastic to meet, greet and network with Mopar fans and experts. Welcome to the family Sport!

Welcome to the site. I think you should keep the car or you will regret it in the future. I sure wish I could have one of my Dad's old Mopar's.

Welcome to the forum. You have a very desirable car to remember your dad by. You should keep it if at all possible. Most of these convertibles rusted away a long time ago. Value depends a lot on condition and options. That 383 big block is a definite plus.

beautiful car.. i had a 68 sport satty hard top, loved it and should have never gotten rid of it.

my condolences to you and your family. drive that car and keep it, because the memories you had in it with your father will come to life each time you step behind the wheel, for he is with you, always.

welcome, sorry about your dad,it would've been nice for him to hand the keys over to you himself.

Welcome to the site! Absolutely keep the car! The memories you have every time you look at "his baby" are priceless.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! I too am sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Very nice car you have there, your on the right track to preserve it. Lots of great people on this site that are willing to help, just ask. Would love to see some more pics of your ragtop inside and out.
