I have a chance to buy this locally. 318 auto, doesn't run, number matching.

Any idea of value? I was thinking of offering him $300

You could make a nice profit just parting it out at that price. Headlight bezels and bumpers are worth more than that as they fit many early A-100s

If it's rust free (I suspect it's not though considering how far it's sunk in the ground) You could try flipping it whole first....part it if it doesn't sell. Interesting color combo! I'd be interested in it if I wasn't already tied up with my '74 B series. You could also try the A100 yahoo list.

A-100

A lot depends on if it runs. If it is dead and parts only you are on the mark. If it can or does run and rust is little or none $1000 would be a close number.
Good luck with it. I have lost of New rubber parts if you need them to replace the sun dried stuff.
GEORGE!!

Does numbers matching really matter on that?

give him 300 basically what he would get for scrap for it i think 500 would be the highest i would go cool little van though.

It wouldn't mean anything to that. The only thing to match there anyway would be year of production. The V-8 auto thing is what makes it diserable. THe only other thing would be doors on both sides.

Would that have a straight axle front in it?If so that would be a $200 or 300 item.

I know a Mopar guy up here that has been looking for onr of those.
There is one for sale near by that the guy wants 3 grand for and it is a rot box.
They are getting hard to find!

I made the offer. I'm just waiting to hear back from him now. I went $300 on the offer. It is a v-8 van, strait front axle, and it hasn't ran in years. We have very little rust here. I'll update this thread when I hear back from this guy. He is still working on the title as well. I told him no title, no go. He said it was his grandfathers, so the title shouldn't be an issue.

Depending on what you are going to do I wouldn't let the title kill things. If you are looking to use/keep it I would check into getting a replacement title.
Parts wise once you sell the head light trim, seats and bumpers assuming they are very good the rest is nickle and dime. Front axles anyone want to buy some. I had to take 5" out to make it look righ in my Henry.

Yeah, I've never heard much about the straight axle being worth much either....

wannadrag, those came with straight axles until A-100 production stopped...and full size D series pickups had them through 71.

Ever price a new front axle with the springs, spindles and brake parts? Those and the Econoline are a excellent choice of axle for a low buck gasser or hot rod plus i prefer the look of a i beam versus the round tube speedway sells.

I agree with the idea the beam lookes better than the tube just that it is a good bit heaver. THe other thing is your are buying a bunch of obloleat parts as far as the breaks go and it is a drum system but you can buy a disc conversion. Cutting one down isn't the easiest. I boxed my axel after I narowed it.

i agree the i beam looks way better than the round tube type axle i think of a trailer house axle when i see those round type under a car either way straight axles are cool.

why didn't my last post show yet and I had a message about being aproved by the moderator?
