1969 440 with AC power steering brackets

well i don't see that at all . but you do what you think is right , maybe some more pics of vehicles with a/c and p/s would be a benefit . this is what i ran with a/c n ps . the last pic , is what i run with ps , View attachment 583651 View attachment 583652 View attachment 583654 View attachment 583656 without a/c .

This is the pump I got. As can be seen in photo 4 it won't fit a 440.
It's got different pulley and brackets as yours.
Do you know what yours is or where I can get one like it? And pressure hose?
My pump is disassembled and getting a paint job then getting sold.

the one in the pic is from a 383 a/c ps in a 68 dodge polara 500 . and the 69 dart ps hose , was very close ot the exhaust manifold . what does your measure from the bracket to the pulley ? your front bracket looks like it has more bend in it .

That measurement looks to be pretty close to what I need. Here is a picture of what I have, I hate to be a pain but could you get the same measure from the other set up? Thanks for all your help!!

If you need to have pulley closer to pump and not by much, you can remove pulley and have it trimmed down the appropriate distance and reinstall. Using correct pulley tools. There are different pulleys and no part numbers on them so you really do have to have an example of what would have been on the car.

Pat just a thought go to a salvage yard find a bb that has everything on it . Either buy everything from water pump out include the hoses etc. What year is your pump housing? If you know that it might help you find the correct brackets. I don't know for sure but bb and sb have to be different so if you are trying to use anything from the sb it won't work. Of course im sure pulley sizes will be different but the whole thing is to get all pulleys brackets hoses from something and put it on your engine. I go to rv salvage yard to get pics and what ever i need because they pull everything out as a unit. Just like the other guy did has bb dart and pulled everything off of the polara to fit his dart. Then once installed you can get new hoses made from pump to box. Just my thought pattern good luck.

Dear Bearman, love the idea but ......unfortunately started buying parts a year ago and the darn power steering is the last to go!!! but getting close, RC's picture looks to be what I need. I have the bracket and pump but my pulley is not correct. I hope!!

4 3/4" O.D. It's also the same pulley that was on my (previous)1968 Hemi cars & 1968 383 car that had power steering.

Update, I got a couple of test pumps from a mopar nut at the mill. One of the pumps seems to match the pump that Pomonamissel (that is a long name!) recommended. I put it on and it looks like it will line-up. Still confused a little because my reference book (Charger, Road Runner, & Superbee restoration guide by Paul Herd) says that all big blocks in 1969 had Federal pumps and different size belts were used in 1968 - 1971 on AC cars. I guess this means different pulley sizes but that is not clear. I did order an Ebay pulley for the federal pump that may or may not be correct, Ha if you can afford to play with mopars , you can afford a couple of practice parts!! If there is any body out there with a stock 1969 440 with AC I would love to know what is actually on it!
BeeCool, I will post some better pictures this weekend and update you on the federal pump set-up.
