I’m looking for the size and thread of the locking set screw for my shifter. I purchased the car and it was missing. The knob presently wants to slide up without the set screw.

Is the shifter knob with set screw to be locked in the 6:00 position? Or facing the back of the car?

Is it a flathead screw or an Allen head?

Thank you

Pop it off and go to the hardware store. They should have thread gauges to help you

You have to twist the knob to get the button in the middle of the knob to unscrew then it will come right off

Allen head set screw, hardware store.

If it's a #10 (and I'm guessing it is) be careful it may be a 24 or a 32 thread/inch.

Thanks for all your help. I was able to un-thread the button and knob and spring. I ran a tap through the hole. The correct thread is a 10-24 as mentioned above. I just wanted to share my findings so someone later can search and learn. Cheers
