1969 Charger Lug Nut Size

Hey everyone,

I have a 1969 Charger that I am looking to buy the black chrysler police wheels for. I was wondering what the lug nut sizes are so I can order new black chrome lug nuts at the same time I the wheels.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

1/2 x 20. They came from the factory with left handed threads on one side though. You might want to check if they have been changed to all right hand studs before ordering nuts. By the way, welcome to the site.

Look at the end of the lug stud. If there is a letter "L" on the end of it, then it is a left-hand thread.

What is involved in the process of changing left hand studs to right hand studs? Is it a complicated process that costs a lot of money or is it a simple swap out part?

Swapping out the studs in the rear axle is as simple as taking out the axle and pressing the old studs out and pressing the new studs in, then reinstalling the axle.

On the front, however, the lug studs are swaged into the hub. To avoid ruining the hub when replacing the studs, take off the hub/drum assembly and drill the heads off the studs from the back side of the hub. This will allow you to easily press the remainder of the stud through the hub without damaging it. It will also allow you to remove the drum from the hub for replacement. You can then press the new studs into the hub in the same fashion as the rear axle.

Once the new front studs are in place, you can choose to swage the drum back into place or not. I have never swaged the replacement studs on my cars and have had no issues.
