1969 Charger Original Caliper Rebuild

Has anyone out there rebuilt calipers? I have the original disc brakes on the front of my 69. None of the original stuff has been replaced. With all the aftermarket stuff available is it worth rebuilding? Pain the a** or not complicated? I’m not worried about keeping my car original. I want to do what makes sense. I can add pics tomorrow.
 
I have rebuilt dozens of calipers and if the piston is good it is cheap to do. I do recommend that the casting is media blasted for best results. Seal kits are available through Rock Auto, maybe pistons too?

Your working with BENDIX disc brake, 4 piston calipers calipers on a 69 Charger.
That braking system is totally obsolete in this modern day and age.
NOTHING is available for them anymore at the parts store level, such as Rock Auto Parts.
If your fortunate to find any rebuild kits for them you can easily expect to pay anywhere from 90 to 120 bucks for each kit.
And if your caliper pistons are rust pitted to death, those things are on the unobtanium list to even think about finding.
And then your caliper bores may be rust pitted to death, and require sleeving, at hugh amounts of $$$$$$$$ to get done.
I gave up rebuilding those Bendix calipers, quite awhile ago now, when kit prices went through the roof, and parts became impossible to find anymore.
My suggestion is to upgrade to a modern disc brake system for your car.
Factory parts, or some vendor that markets and sells conversion kits.

Understand. So do they not make kits that I can use my original spindles? I’m getting some negative feedback on being able to use them. Parts seem to be plentiful for upgrading calipers and rotors but it’s seems most kits use different spindles than the stock type? There’s nothing wrong with the ones I just took off the car.
 
Stick with the OE calipers if there not leaking or sticking. If want to pull maintenance on them remove, drain, rinse with brake clean.
Even if you send them off to have sleeved and resealed you probably money and piece of mind ahead.
If you must replace them you can ship all parts to me Ill give you fair market value for obsolete iron! Smiley face.

I haven't kept track in regards if any vendors make "kits" that still would use factory stock B body 66-69 disc brake spindles.
Your going to have to make up your mind what you want to do with those old brakes of yours.
Sometimes things, like old obsolete brake parts such as spindles, calipers, never get used again, as more modern things are readily available for use.
And if you take old calipers apart for inspection then your gonna be needing rebuild kits to put them back together again.
Then i wish you good luck in finding them from private sources, as those things will cost you a lot, if you can ever find any for sale anymore from anyone that may have them.
The last pair that i did, took me forever to find a kit, but i got very lucky in finding one, but the seller charged me $90.00 bucks to get it from him.
And then the postage, on top of that, and then and there, i said no more rebuilding Bendix calipers.
Well anyway, good luck with your decision what you want to do.

I am definitely not going to be rebuilding or using the original calipers. That ship has sailed. Researching the front brake set up has been extremely frustrating.......
