Does this stainless trim have weather-strip between it and body or nothing?

I don't think the part would use sealer - but you could paint behind it with cavity wax to protect under it then install the part.
I paint it on the back of the part and were it will rest then fit the part.
That's what I do - the factory workers would not have had time to fuss around doing things like this.

The original clips had a bit of felt on the bottom but no gasket or seal for that trim.
