1969 Dodge Coronet 2 door police fleet ordered vehicle / Jurisdiction UNK

It’s neat! And how many are left? I think I’d Big Block it tho.

it has serious rust around the windshield too, some of the rust is surface
that much rust everywhere isn't a good sign, tread lightly
probably the rear windows & channels too

from the looks of it a lot of Rust in other places too
'if you see that much on top'
there's 5-10+ times as much in places you don't see

It's a money pit, you will have several times what it's worth
just bringing it back to near stock,
it's no different to do a base model 318 car than a real Muscle Car in prices,
except drivetrain, or specific rare Hemi or V code or M Code cars
paint & interior most the driveline etc.
'but' if it makes you happy, rocks your world
then by all means 'go for it'

IMHFO otherwise it's a parts car maybe (albeit hardly worth that)
& if it's cheap enough (otherwise Run Forest Run)

True but it is unusual, for this day and age and only 27 made it is a base car low level I just picked up 70 coronet deluxe very similar car 318 and all and everything.So it nice to see cars still showing up there it still some gems left waiting to be discovered.

It's kind of hard to imagine a police car being R6 which would lead me to focus more along the fire department lines. Maybe a clue can be found amongst the garbage strewn inside, under the seats, etc.?

I also believe it to be fire department related but of course that is only my opinion and unless I can properly prove a jurisdiction then it’s only and assumption.
And we all know speculation doesn’t have much value.

It’s is a lot of surface rust just looks beat up from being out in the sun so long after someone decided to sand it down and not protect the exposed steel.
Needs some patch work here and there but overall not to bad. Ive definitely seen worse
 
It was probably a fire vehicle. Cherry on top with a A pillar spotlight. Nothing else going on there. It wasn't a pursuit vehicle it doesn't look like.

However, the spotlight does sweeten the pot.

Any evidence of a radio mount or a shotgun mount?

Doesn't look like a roof beacon was installed. Evidence of grille or package tray lights?
 
It has a certified speedometer. That's proof of a police package car.
 
So is the WK VIN.
 
The red paint in the engine compartment might be a clue :rolleyes: I can't say I've ever seen a red police car. The spot light wouldn't be unusual for a Fire Captains car.

now that you mention it there is another rather large tag on the radiator support
I will check the package tray area

I’ve removed the trunk seal, it does have bright Fire Engine Red paint
Still has a shine as it was protected from the elements.
I was looking for the serial number stamping in the rear
 
All of these old cars are toys. We all probably had a toy police car. I say it has more value than a non police car small block coronet. The car is what it is, restore it for what it is, and enjoy it.
 
The mods deleted the picture and information that I posted, I thought was important and may have helped you with the sale of the car.
 
Ya that sale thread went off the rails. There were over 20 comments removed.
 
That’s a cool car you don’t see many like that as is the case with the coronet in question.
