Hey Guys,

I know its not a Mopar but there are a few brand X cars that I would own and a 68-71 Nova SS is one of them.

My questions are how can I find some good info on it to make sure it is a real SS car?

The guy is asking $1600 and has come down from over 2K on it. I might be a player at this price if its a real SS.

So if anyone has a good source for Nova SS info please let me know.

I think I would do the body work and get it ready for paint and maybe sell it off to buy a Mopar. But then again I might just finish it and keep it and buy a Mopar. I did find one of my favorite year of Fury's a 68 Sport. The car looks solid with surface rust but its one I would have to really look at hard.

So thanks everyone let me know some info if you got it.

It not a real SS.Trust me i had 8 of them.Grille would be black.Tail panel is off a 71-72 as they were narrow to fit the wider tailights in 71 ans 72.No disc brakes.Front marker lights look like a 6cyl car with newer 350 emblems added.Just from the 30 seconds i looked at it.

Thank that is good info. The only thing that stood out to me was the hood. I think all SS hoods on the Novas had those chrome lovers. I did ask for vin and fender tag but it sounds like a car someone just put parts on it...I should just pass on it.

Back to looking at this 68 Fury!

I would agree and as such its not worth more then a grand if your lucky sorry just my opinion

Vin and cowl tag tells very little on gm cars. Most Nova SS cars will have disc brakes, they all came with dual exhaust. Both rear rails will have the tailpipe hanger hole where the non ss cars didnt. The factory 396 cars are actually easier to tell as there are more BB specific parts. If you ever come across other and need some help just ask.

why is it tied with a chain?....200 dollar car at most......go find that mopar

Will do and thank man. I just wanted more eyes that know the cars more then I do or would.

I'm really liking this Fury a lot. It would make a great car to drop a modern Hemi in it. The prices of 73-74 Roadrunners in my area are crazy right now. I found another car for 5k needing restored. I have not called about it but at 5k needing restored I think I will go back to either that 71 RR in Texas or the Fury.
