My oldest friend is restoring a Road Runner for his daughter and is having trouble finding the seal "flap" for the glass? He has a metal strip with attached rubber seal (decomposing). Can anyone school me on this design? Thanks!
Mike

Go with the 3/8ths. I used the 5/16ths because I read on here somewhere that the 3/8ths was too thick and the outer trim wouldn't fit correctly. Man was that a bad decision.
After a summer of shows in the hot sun with the 5/16ths has squished down and started pushing the interior trim away from the headliner. Good winter project for me to fix.
Again, go with the 3/8ths.

Are you talking about the rear quarter glass?
I think you may have something there considering the detail. Rear glass, back glass... guys need to be more specific.

Rear SIDE glass is also covered in my Superbird cleanup thread for Talladega in 2019.. how to do the stapled on inner seal and outer catwhisker.

I relooked at the setup and now understand more about the design. Where can the rubber seal by obtained? And are the twist clips reproduced?

I just did this, this last summer on my 68 Roadrunner. The back window seal ribbon rubber I bought from a local auto paint store ($25). The head liner rear spiked retention fames I had removed for cleaning and restore. When reinstalled the twist clips were in good condition and reused. I will say these twist clips are extremely tight to reinstall and I needed to use clamps to pull the frames up tight enough to get the clips to twist into place.

Also note that there are holes for four twist clips on each side but only the top three are used. The fourth one is not present or used.

Do you guys still use the butyl strip with the heater element inside it?

Or are you using the plain butyl strip and relay on it 'gluing' both sides.

I used the old school plain butyl rubber ribbon tape. It was a hot July day and I let the car sit in the sun for an hour to heat the window frame and window glass. Glass was just sitting in the frame loose. Pulled back into the garage, lifted out the window and applied the butyl tape then installed the window. I did do a few practice installs placing the glass without the butyl first just to get the feel of swinging the glass over and into place because I was doing this with no help and you only get one chance to stick it in place. After the worm glass contact area was cleaned of finger prints and any dirt it was laid in place. The glass sticks immediately But I spent about an hour pushing it down into place with a clean washcloth all around the perimeter to get the best seal. You can see the butyl tape squishing out through the glass as you do this. Beep! Beep!

Don't forget the shims at the bottom to center it up and down. Place the tape on the car first then peel just a bit of the top backing up on a corner. Place the glass in, position it, then peel the backing off at a steep angle from between the glass and tape. Works like a charm.
I believe I got my last kit from DMT. 3M 08611 Window-Weld 5/16" x 15' Round Windshield / Back Window Butyl Ribbon Sealer Kit
Again, this is what I used and I think I should have gone with the 3/8".

Im restoring a 70 RR and doing the headliner - question on the finishing trim or "Reinforced rubber " that dresses up around the rear window. I disassembled my car 20 years ago...took lots of pics - but never enough....how does the rear window rubber finishing trim get fastened on the inside at headliner??

Just did this on my 70, trim slips over teeth that headliner is stretched over. I used a heat gun to slightly warm up trim in a couple of areas to get it to form better in the corners. Tapped it on lightly with dead blow hammer. Bottom trim is stapled on hard board speaker cover.
