Hey everyone I've looked all over and I couldn't find a thread on how or if they did an electronic conversation from vacuum because of all the actuators that go bad so I figured I'll post some pics on what I did.. I used the stock location for the actuator and switch..
Here ya go..
The 2" actuator is from Windy Nation water proof for outdoor use..
The switch is IndusTec 10 AMP DC Motor Polarity - Reversing Maintained Toggle Switch Wired 12V also I put a toggle switch extension "RED" I cut the extension down a 1/4"

Nice work, and can be put back to original if so desired. How does it open...slow like the original function or does it snap open?

Go to face book(plymouth roadrunner owners and enthusiast) page for video I can't put one here

If u already have the stock acuator in place and the hood closes than it should clear

CONGRATULATIONS......EXCELLENT ADAPTATION AND CLEAN LOOKING INSTALLATION.
A few questions if I may .....
1. When energized open, upon shutdown, will it close automatically like the vacuum operated unit, via the under dash mounted relay and spring? I assume that the actuator must be powered ON to open.
2. The origional dash mounted air grabber "switch" is really a valve, directing the vacuum signal to/from the actuator and solenoid. Is your air grabber control device a D.P.D.T switch, that reverses the polarity of the actuator's motor?
3. Does the actuator have its own internal end of travel limit switches to stop the open/close action or does the driver place the open/close switch in an "off" position when the actuator is open or retracted ?
4. Are you going to market the individual pieces and parts? Where can I purchase the linear actuator?
Again... Great effort

Hey 1st of all thanx
The switch is a 3 position reverse polarity
The 2" acuator has internal end stops n can be bought off eBay
I have no intention to make a kit.
I have a video of it working on roadrunner enthusiasts on Facebook.
I can't post a video here
