Hey everyone.
So i have bought mine 1970 belvedere 4 door sedan without a windshield. After some research it appeared that coupe and sedan/wagon have different windshield and seal. A lot of you guys said that Precision seals are the best. The question is what is the right part number for my type of rubber seal? Precision solution for 4 door sedans are 3 times more expensive than coupe so i was thinkin to check for other suppliers. The one i have found is WCRD672 and on some resources it says 1966-1967 Coronet, 1966-1970 Belvedere 4dr sedan & wagon. I found one at price 190$ at one of the popular web shops but the tech guy told me following: “According to the Mopar parts book they are different.” And the description says only 1966-67 B-Body 2/4 Door Sedan.

So now i am a little confused with ordering this one as no guarantees that it will fix. Plus i am outside of US so that is even more important to buy proper seal.
who is got some experience?

thanks fbbo in advance.

All 66-70 B should be the same Dodge and Plymouth.

The difference is as you say between the 2D HT (shorter) and the 2D sedan, 4D and Wagon (longer).

I got mine from ebay for about $200 but haven't installed it yet.

Thanks for your info.

Anyone else have an experience?

Bought WCRD672 from Dante`s. Saw some guys here were recommend that for 69 wagon and description also says 70 Belvedere 4 door sedan, guess that is what I need.

I dont think so :(

I just started a thread asking why the maker of the that gasket - and 80- percent of websites - list that as 66-70
when the manufacturer clearly claims it's ONLY for 66-67. btw Steele Rubber will match your existing gasket profile
(with the closest one they have) and send you as many feet of it as you need. I may go that route, as they do have a premade
TWO door gasket for our cars - it might be the same shape (profile) as the one we need.

Good luck to you.

dave

did any of you above ( who ordered that gasket) install it yet?

For the '66 to '70 B-Body windshield applications, you have the four following applications.

1. '66 to '70 B-Body convertible, Precision WCRD 671
2. '66 to '67 B-Body two door hardtop, Precision WCRD 671B
3. '66 to '70 B-Body four door sedan and wagon, Precision WCRD 672
4. '66 to '67 B-Body two door sedan, Precision WCRD 672
5. '68 to '70 B-Body two door hardtop and sedan/coupe/post, Precision WCRD 715

We have been supplying various windshield and back window gaskets to the hobby for over 30 years and have sold thousands of them. Depending upon the application, one manufacturer may offer a superior product. You got to know the various applications and coverage to obtain the best results. For the Mopar applications, you basically have three different manufacturers producing product in bulk. That would be Clesters, Precision and Steele.

Precision has the market share and is an OEM vendor to the current automotive industry. Clesters and Steele are more geared to the restoration and specialty applications.

Through the years, we have been involved in the manufacturing of specialty one off gaskets. I personally would not suggest this route as it can get extremely expensive and for most of these windshield or back glass applications, you will need to make the corners. The bulk extrusion is not the problem. You have to get a precise tight fit for the gasket and it has to fit both the glass and the window channel.

Check with your glass installer, they will all have a preference. Pricing can vary substantially from vendor to vendor.

I think you have a typo.

Line 3 and 4 calls for the same part number.

As an aside, I am 99.9% sure I have seen a 1970 WH23 windshield put into a 1966 WH23 car.

Thats what i pointed out as well. This means that no one makes - or has made - a reproduction 1968 B Body four door/wagon windshield gasket?
No part # exists? Why are people selling wcrd672 as fitting both a 66-67 coronet 2 door AND a 66-70 B body four door?

I think some of the confusion can be explained as-

1966/67 4 door and 2 door post "sedan" used a different windshield and seal (among other things) than the 2 door hardtop cars.
66/67 2 door sedans were VERY different than 2 door hardtops.

1968-70 2 door hardtops and 2 door sedans used the same parts, as the "sedan" body was no longer a different assembly, and was basically the same body with a fixed rear window.

Interesting how far this mistake has traveled, as everyone from Summit and Jegs all the way down to Dante's and other specialty shops list this mistaken match (wcrd672 for 68-70 4 door/wagons). Some folks mistake wcrd715 too. Tough sledding.

It's because people don't know that a 68-70 2dr is a hardtop roof only. They dropped the true " sedan" 2dr after 67.

The WCRD 672 is the correct windshield gasket for the '66 to '70 B-Body four door sedan and station wagon applications. It has been available for as long as I can remember. That is why I listed the WCRD 672 description above twice to distinguish the fact that it fits the '66 to '67 B-Body two door sedans as well.

As in any business, if you can use a part that is already in production and on the shelf, you are ahead of the game. The Chrysler designers just used the already available windshield from a '66 to '67 B-Body two or four door sedan to cut down on cost for the '68 to '70 B-Body four door sedans.

No different than the door seals. Chrysler used the same door seals on the front doors of the '66 to '70 B-Body four door sedans. The back doors differs slightly between the wagons and four door sedans for the '66 to '70 B-Bodies.

Ah! So there is no typo - the 2 applications for the part number (wcrd672) are just listed separately.

3. '66 to '70 B-Body four door sedan and wagon, Precision WCRD 672
4. '66 to '67 B-Body two door sedan, Precision WCRD 672

Precision wasn't even able to determine this :)
