This is the beginning of the project. Everything on the car was there upon purchase except I swapped the passenger fender back to the original, not sure why the people before me put a garbage fender on it to begin with. It is a factory a car, auto on the column, originally a 440 (I have a donor 440 that needs rebuilt along with a 727 trans), glass is all there and in tact minus windshield that needs replaced, bucket seats ( missing buddy seat), rear seat is there but needs love, cardboard backings on the door and rear panels need some love but exterior if them are decent, needs complete rewire, all harnesses where in the trunk, floor pans are solid, as is trunk except driver's side there are 2 spots, passenger wheel well has 2 spots, roof skin needs replaced, 1 spot on each outer sail panel by rear window, frame is good, front valance is trashed and carpet is gone along with glove box insert and build sheet. Overall it's pretty complete but needs some TLC.

Removed interior last week minus dash, steering column and glass/tracks. I didn't see any rust spots which is a plus. The headliner was trashed and the visors will need redone most likely. The dome light bezel and lens are decent, but I may get a new lens eventually as it is yellowed a little. Next up is removing rear side markers and pulling a small dent in the driver's side by the bumper, looks as though someone backed into it a little. Thankfully the bumper isn't damaged, so it should be a relatively easy fix. Then more removal.. tail lights, etc to get it ready to sand. I'll post more pictures later on as I go.

Congrats nice find

Thanks. I was shocked at how close to home it was. Literally 14 miles away...
That's awesome, you would be surprised what's hiding next door. Looks like a good car to start with. Enjoy

i have a few extra parts from mine if you need anything. Nice find, wish mine was in that good of shape when i started.

What parts might you have? I'm not sure when I'm going to start buying parts again yet, but I'd like to know what you have so when I do I know where I can start looking first.

Grey plastic on lower driver's side inside front bumper. Not sure how to repair that yet and I haven't found any place that repros them

Awesome car v, very nice. if your looking for a buddy seat I got one that I'm selling.

Nice find! It's in better shape than my 68 was in. I was having trouble finding one, about to give up, then a bud at work said there's one a block away, in the back of an old tote the note used car lot.

So far I've been told by 3 people on here that are pretty knowledgeable, based on my fender tag and pics I probably have a 20k car without the engine and trans, closer to 21k with them, even though they are not numbers matching. Considering what I bought it for I'm well ahead of the game

Figured an update was due. I have most of the body stripped down to the bare shell, disassembled my good front bumper so I could repair the grey trim using broken sections of my spare bumper and a small part I had to dissect from the pass side bucket curve. Just a quick fyi, the whole acetone and Legos thing doesn't seem to work well. I'm using broken pieces of the spare grey trim and acetone and it's working out pretty well so far, just needs a lot of hand sanding on the big repair areas. So here are a few pics of the grill resto in progress
