1970 GTX question

OP, the "value" is only in the eye of the beholder. A "non OEM" GTX is only what someone is willing to pay for it. If you enjoy your Runner, why change?

Hey if it was an option available on that car when new go for it , you just werent there in 1970 to check the box , do it now , good luck be happy

A bit of advice, the switch from 727 to 4 spd can be done, no doubt, but you need ALL the parts and some fab skill. We did that in'72. MY buddy had a '70 Barracuda 383 4 spd 8 3/4. His buddy had a '70 Challenger Hemi 727 Super Trak Pac RT SE triple black. Even all the parts side by side with nearly new cars it took work. If you want to do the swap, get a doner car with all the parts.

I switched my 70 Charger R/T 440 Sixpack V code car to a 4 speed, the engine was matching numbers, but the transmission was not.
Did the same with my 69 Super Bee. Auto trans was not original to the car, so I converted to a 4-speed. Imo that gave me the freedom to do the swap. Total #'s car, I wouldn't have done it.
